Dylan having fun and enjoying the warmth of Grandpas swimming pool! – Palm City, FL.
We would like to say a big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Bedford for having us over the Easter holiday break. It’s always nice to visit with the Grand Parents and the warm weather of Florida helps to thaw out our northern bodies. Dylan really enjoyed the pool and the kids events at the club this year. The club even put on a fireworks display this year after the carnival for the first time ever… and it was an awesome show!

Dylan and his dump truck on the beach – Fripp Island, SC
Last years trip to Fripp Island was so much fun that we decided to rent the same house and do it again this year! This year the fishing was better, but we caught more black tip sharks than expected. After Charlie pulled in a 3 plus footer, we decided to give the fishing a rest to keep from scaring away all the other vacationers. The golf was great and we managed to play several different courses in the area including Sanctuary, Legends at Parris Island and Ocean Point. Wow, what a great week!! There were so many great photos from the trip that I couldn’t put them all on the site, but here are the best of the best… enjoy!!

06/24/2013 – “Dylan at the Beach Club” (Tucker’s Point Club, Bermuda)
Here are a couple of home movies I’ve put together from our late spring vacation to Bermuda. Most of the footage is of Dylan, as one would expect, spending his time in the one place he most enjoys spending it… the pool! He has finally gotten over his fear of the water and is swimming on his own (with the help of a flotation vest of course) and we hope to have him putting his head underwater by this time next year. It’s amazing how much this kid likes water… he’s got to be my child!!

Julie, Dylan and I before dinner at the Tucker’s Point Beach Club, Bermuda
Here is my trip post for our annual spring trip to Bermuda. This year we decided to wait and go a little later than usual so that we could meet up with Julie’s sister and her family to enjoy a week in paradise together. Dylan was really looking forward to seeing his cousins and spending time with them on the beach and in the swimming pools. Everyone had a great time and we even hired a sitter one evening so that Susan, Jason, Julie and I could enjoy a fancy dinner at one of our favorite restaurants… Cafe’ Lido on Elbow Beach. We hope that you enjoy the photos… I’ll try to post some videos soon!

Dylan enjoying his Grandparents warm pool in sunny West Palm, Florida
Easter vacation in West Palm was a whole lot of fun this year! The weather was great, the pool was warm and Dylan is finally at the age where he can mix and mingle with the family better. His speech has improved greatly and his ability to communicate has made it easier to ‘let go’ so to speak and not worry quite so much about him all the time.
Dylan enjoys seeing his cousins greatly and has really started to bond with them. He has also become much more comfortable in the pool… although he is not swimming with out a flotation device yet, he is making progress with his swimming skills. Just you wait and see, we’ll make a diver out of him yet!

Julie, Dylan and the kids playing in the pool – South Seas Resort, Captiva, Florida
This year, as for every other year now, we have been making the trip down to Captive Florida to spend Thanksgiving with Julie’s family and all of her relatives. I’ll have to say, it is a nice getaway from the cold and dreary weather of Northern Virginia! This year we rented a house on the resort (instead of staying at the condo’s), so that Julie’s side of the family could all stay together in one place.
It was very nice of Bruce to put this trip together and along with the house being great, the pool in the back yard was a huge hit for the kids… especially Dylan! It was also great seeing all the cousins, nieces and nephews and we were really glad to hear that everyone has been doing well over the past couple of years. We look forward to seeing you all again very soon. Until then… Cheers!!

Tucker’s Point Hotel / Dive & Water Sports Centre on Castle Harbour – Tucker’s Point Club, Bermuda
As promised, here is the second installment of vacation photos from beautiful Bermuda. This set features our guided walking tour of St. George’s and some of the oldest buildings on the island. We even got a tour of St. Peter’s Chapel which was built in 1612 and some of the grave sites of the very first settlers… there is a lot of history on this little 26 mile long island. We have already seen almost every inch of every Fort on the island, so it was nice to change it up and see some of the sites that are way off the beating path. We hope you enjoy the photos and look for us to post some videos from the trip soon!

Swimming in from the surf at the beach club – Tucker’s Point, Bermuda
Here is the first installment of photos from our Fall family vacation to Bermuda. As always, we had a great time on the island and this trip the weather was just outstanding! This week we spent a lot of time at the beach club and Dylan tried his level best to wear out the kids pool, but we also found time to take a nice walking tour of St. Georges with one of the islands most knowable historians.
We didn’t have a chance to do any diving on this trip, but Julie and I did get in a couple rounds of golf. We even talked Stephanie into babysitting for us one night so we could take advantage of a nice dinner out at The Point Restaurant, one of Bermuda’s finest dining spots! I’ll be adding another post with more photos shortly… and keep an eye out for my videos from the trip, they’ll be added soon too!

The view from the deck of our beach front rental – Fripp Island, SC
This summer we rented a beach front vacation home with several of our friends for a week on Fripp Island, South Carolina. It was to be a week of fun in the sun with everything from surf fishing to golfing included! Wow, what a great week it was… the weather was awesome with the exception of a heavy steady wind everyday, but that did help to keep the temperature down in the comfortable range. Charlie, Chris and I played golf just about every day and really enjoyed the courses. I think we’re going to have to pencil this trip into or calendar again for next year… this is a great place to vacation and I promise to take more photos next time!
