8/05/2012 – The boat ride back up river from Fairview Beach, VA. (music by: Ace Of Base)
Here is a little short video clip I put together from video I had on my cell phone. Me and the boys are enjoying a beautiful ride back up river after spending the day at Fairview Beach. I had to edit out the wind noise and decided to add a little cruisin’ music to the clip… enjoy! (Music by: Ace Of Base)
We made a Sunday afternoon run up to National Harbor for a dinner outing and when we contacted the harbor master he told us to tie up both of our boats in one slip. My reply was… “it better be a pretty deep slip, we’ll need about 65 feet worth to fit both of our boats!” Guess what… they both fit with only about a foot or so of my bow and anchor roller hanging out past the piling.

Taking down canvas and lashing down ‘Our Pleasure‘ in preparation for Hurricane Irene which is expected to blow straight up the Potomac River!
Everyone knows that boating brings out the best in people… it’s a well known fact! But every once in a while, when you’re out on the water enjoying the company of good friends, the combination of sun, fun, beer and music gets the better of us… and when that happens, we all hope that someone has a video camera handy to capture the moment. Thanks Charlie for sharing… this was truly a priceless moment of the summer!

An absolutely picture perfect day at Belmont Bay Marina – Nov. 14, 2010
Well it’s done… the boat is completely winterized and another awesome boating season unfortunately comes to a close. After finishing the work on the boat and installing the winter cockpit cover, I took a few moments to reflect on the past summer and then snapped off a few photos of the beautiful fall colors as I left the marina for the last time this year. It’s probably going to be another bad winter and I sure am going to miss her, but on a positive note… next season is only 4 or 5 months away!!

I’m trying too get the cockpit cover on the boat before the sky starts to fall…
It’s not that uncommon to have a thunderstorm pop-up when out boating on the river, especially during the latter half of the summer when temperatures are in the 90’s. So before heading out on the boat, I hit up the local radar and marine forecast to try and determine what the afternoon will bring in the way of weather and plan my boating day accordingly.
This past Sunday would be one of those day when we had to head back in early… and believe me, it was a good call to cut and run when we did. Some of the wind gusts in the marina were as high as 60 mph and even though we didn’t have much trouble getting back into our slip, some of our dock mates were not quite as fortunate. I’ve added some photos of the festivities for your viewing pleasure… enjoy!!

The view of Tim’s Rivershore from our raft-up – Aquapalooza 2010
Well here they are folks… I’ve finally have had some free time to download and edit the pictures from the Sea Ray Aquapalooza 2010 event at Tim’s Rivershore in Dumfries, Virginia. It wasn’t the best Aquapalooza I’ve ever been too, but it was a excellent day to be on the water and with most of our friends there to share in the fun… well, what can I say, everyone had a really great time! The M/V ‘Our Pleasure’ tied up at the National Harbor Marina
This is just a small collection of photos from our boating trip up to National Harbor, Maryland. We didn’t stay the night (this time), but plan on taking advantage of the beautiful marina again in the near future for a weekend get-away! The docks are very nice and there are so many restaurants to choose from within walking distance of the marina… it’s an excellent place for an overnighter! Oh yeah, Mike was with us on this trip wasn’t he… check out the photos!!
