Cirque Du Soleil – Kooza!

:: Sunday, November 9th, 2008 @ 1:07 pm

Yes, the circus is in town and the whole family went to see the show last weekend. Kooza, which is one of Cirque Du Soleil’s newest traveling shows, will be performing on the Plateau at the new National Harbor in Maryland until December 14, 2008. If you’ve never been to one of their shows, I highly recommend taking the time to go. The performers of the French Canadian Cirque do an outstanding job of keeping the audience on the edge of their seats for the entire show.

The Wheel of Death!

For this show, there were a total of ten different acts with my favorite being the wheel of death! Kooza is a brilliant combination of music and acrobatics with a stunning and electrifying stage set!

Unfortunately, there is no photography allowed during their shows, so instead I’ve add the video trailer which has highlights of the show… Enjoy!

“KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: It combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendor and fragility, presented in a colorful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humor.”

“Between strength and fragility, laughter and smiles, turmoil and harmony, KOOZA explores themes of fear, identity, recognition and power. The show is set in an electrifying and exotic visual world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity and total involvement.”
